Too Many Contractors, No One Accountable

01

One company quotes the compressor, another quotes the pipework, a third does the electrics. When something does not work, everyone points at everyone else. You end up project managing three suppliers, chasing three schedules, and reconciling three sets of paperwork.

02

That is before you factor in downtime. Most installs require the existing system to be offline at some point. Without temporary air arranged in advance, your production stops while contractors argue about sequencing.

03

We built the Turnkey Install service to remove all of that. One scope, one price, one team accountable from survey through to handover.

How Airmech Turnkey Installation Works

We manage the full scope: compressor positioning and base preparation, aluminium or steel pipework design and installation, electrical integration including star delta or soft start wiring, air treatment sizing and installation (dryers, filters, condensate management), control system programming, full commissioning, PSSR documentation, and handover. You get a single point of contact, a fixed price proposal, and a clear programme of works built around your production schedule.

Commissioning is not just switching on and walking away. We set operating pressures, programme variable speed drive parameters where fitted, verify pressure dewpoint at the point of use, current-test all motors against nameplate ratings, calibrate pressure and temperature sensors, test condensate drain function, run the system under load to confirm it meets the agreed demand profile, and document every setting in the handover pack. Nothing is left running on factory defaults.

We hold current stock of CompAir L-Series and Hydrovane HV-Series compressors at our Nuneaton warehouse for fast delivery. Other models are available on manufacturer lead times, typically 4 to 8 weeks. Old equipment is removed as part of the scope: compressor oil is drained and collected by a licensed waste carrier, refrigerant from dryers is recovered by our F Gas certified engineers, and metals are recycled. You receive waste transfer documentation for your environmental records.

Every install includes a Future Proofing Session within three months, where we review how the system is performing and flag anything that needs adjusting. If you sign an Uptime Protection plan within 60 days of handover, you get extended warranty cover or a free first service.

01

Survey and Design

We walk the site, confirm air demand, assess the plant room, and design the right solution. You get a layout drawing and equipment specification before anything is quoted.

02

Fixed Scope Proposal

Clear scope of works with fixed costs. No surprise labour charges. If anything changes mid project, it is documented as a variation order with your approval before any extra work starts.

03

Install Around Your Schedule

Every install is planned around your production windows. If the system needs to be offline, we arrange temporary air in advance so your operations continue.

04

Commission and Optimise

We set parameters, test performance under load, tune the system for efficiency, and document every setting. Nothing is left running on factory defaults.

05

Handover Pack

As-built schematic, settings log, maintenance schedule, and PSSR next steps. Delivered within 10 working days of commissioning, guaranteed, or you receive a credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you handle everything or do I need other contractors?

We handle the full scope: compressor supply and positioning, pipework design and installation (aluminium ringmain or steel as appropriate), electrical integration, air treatment (dryers, filters, condensate management), controls programming, commissioning, PSSR documentation, and handover pack. You do not need to coordinate other contractors. If specialist work is required, such as structural modifications, concrete bases, or high voltage supply upgrades, we arrange it and manage it within our programme. Old equipment is removed as part of the scope, including oil draining by a licensed waste carrier and refrigerant recovery by our F Gas certified engineers.

Can you work around our production schedule?

Yes. Every install is scheduled around your production windows. If the existing system needs to come offline, we arrange temporary air in advance so your operations are not interrupted. Weekend and out of hours work is available where needed.

What if I need to change the scope mid project?

Any scope changes are documented as a variation order with a clear cost and timeline impact. Nothing extra happens without your written approval. Our No Surprise Labour Guarantee means you will never receive an unexpected labour charge.

What brands do you install?

We are authorised distributors for CompAir, Hydrovane, ABAC, and Champion. We also install and commission other brands where your specification requires it. We recommend based on your demand profile: for steady base load applications, a fixed speed CompAir L-Series or Hydrovane HV-Series is typically the most cost effective and reliable choice. For sites with fluctuating demand, a variable speed drive compressor can reduce energy costs by 20 to 35% compared to a fixed speed unit running in load/unload mode, because the motor speed matches output to actual air use rather than cycling between full load and idle. For smaller workshops and light industrial use, ABAC and Champion offer a cost effective entry point without compromising on reliability.

What happens after the install is complete?

You receive a full handover pack within 10 working days including as-built schematics, settings logs, and a maintenance schedule. Within three months we return for a Future Proofing Session to review system performance. Sign an Uptime Protection plan within 60 days and you get extended warranty or a free first service.
