Modern Slavery Statement
Our Commitment
Airmech is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chain. We take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery, and we expect the same standards from our suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
This statement is made voluntarily to demonstrate our commitment to ethical business practices and transparency. While we may fall below the reporting threshold set by the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (£36 million annual turnover), we believe it is important to publish our position.
Our Business
Airmech is a UK compressed air services company established in 1980, providing servicing, repairs, installation, PSSR compliance, and compressor sales across the United Kingdom. We serve over 230 customers, ranging from single-site operations to national multi-site contracts.
- Registered office: Unit 5 Anker Court, Alliance Close, Attleborough Fields Industrial Estate, Nuneaton CV11 6SD
- Company registration: [Company registration number]
- Sector: Compressed air equipment supply, installation, and maintenance
- Employees: UK-based workforce of engineers and office staff
Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain consists primarily of:
- Compressor manufacturers: We are authorised distributors for CompAir, Hydrovane, ABAC, and Champion. Parts and equipment are sourced through official manufacturer channels.
- Consumables and ancillaries: Compressor oil, filters, air treatment equipment, and pipework sourced from established UK and European distributors.
- Subcontractors: Where we engage subcontractors for specialist work (such as electrical installation or crane hire), we use vetted, established businesses.
We assess our supply chain as low risk for modern slavery due to the specialist, technical nature of our industry and the established relationships we maintain with authorised manufacturer channels.
Our Policies
We maintain the following policies and practices to reduce the risk of modern slavery:
- Employment practices: All employees are paid at or above the National Living Wage. We verify right-to-work documentation for every employee.
- Recruitment: We recruit directly and do not use agencies that charge fees to workers.
- Working conditions: We provide fair terms of employment, reasonable working hours, and safe working conditions. We are SafeContractor accredited.
- Whistleblowing: Employees can report concerns confidentially to management without fear of retaliation.
Due Diligence
We take the following steps to assess and monitor modern slavery risk:
- We source parts and equipment through authorised manufacturer distribution channels with established provenance
- We evaluate new suppliers and subcontractors before engaging them
- We maintain long-term relationships with trusted suppliers, many of whom we have worked with for decades
- We would terminate any supplier relationship where evidence of modern slavery was found
Training and Awareness
Our management team is aware of the indicators of modern slavery and the company's obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We are committed to raising awareness among all staff as part of our ongoing commitment to ethical business practices.
